.
Hello everyone
Just a little update regarding the sign up for session I.
I contacted 41 players who played in this league off and on in the past 4 years. So far 28 are coming back , plus I have 10 new members who will be joining us this year. Considering we are still about a month away from beginning of the session I, most likely we will end up with at least 40 players which would be a good number for our format. I am doing a lot of different things to advertise the league and bring in new members.
As I noted before all new members are required to pay the sign up fee in amount of $10 for one session.
Returning players from last year will be able to play for free. A question about a voluntary donation to the league has come up, so if any of you are interested in making a donation to the league you can use the pay pal button below or one on our web site (bottom of the home page) . You can make a donation in any amount .
I plan to organize a pre season gathering sometime in April. It would be a good opportunity to play some doubles and shake the rust off for those of us who only play in the summer. I will keep you posted about this event.
Just like before, I will also run a women's division this year. So far we have 9 players interested.
If you know someone who would be interested in joining us you can direct them to our web site or have them e mail me.
Here is a list of new players joining men's league:
John Eckeramn, John Fritz, John Hockema, Scott Arnold, Eric Jordahl, Richard Arians,Tuan Troung, Neal Petermen, Michael Muceno, Nathan Marcou.
I welcome the new players to the league and I hope they will enjoy playing tennis with our group. I also advise them to check the link below to familiarize themselves with the league rules and our scoring system. You can disregard the format section on there since it changes a little bit every year and I haven't updated it.

I also want to remind everyone that our forum/message board is active. You can link to it from our main web site

The main goal of this forum was to connect players who are looking for practice matches. Players can post their availability, skill level etc. on there and other visitors can contact them to set up matches. The forum is also open to comments suggestions and discussions regarding the league and sport of tennis. Last year the forum didn't have too much activity but I hope it takes off this season. I think it is a great way to set up some practice matches especially during the pre-season. So check it out when you get chance. I tried to set it up so it is very easy to use.
Our main web site has all the features as last year. There is a link to this blog, list of public tennis courts with their locations and maps, player's directory with your contact info, sign up page for new players, rules section, schedule, standings. etc.
Please let me know if you are having issues with the site. This year I used a different program to create it, so there might be some bugs that I am not aware of. It works best in IE browser but aside from some minor errors it works fine in Firefox and Chrome. One thing that I find annoying is inability to use your mouse wheel to scroll down the page unless you move the cursor to left or right of the main site content. Once you move it to the side (dark background) it works fine. I am talking about our main web site , not this blog.
So long for now, I will stay in touch. As always you can leave your comments below this post.
