New season

-

Hello everyone

We are a couple of months away from beginning of the new tennis season. After another tough winter it feels good to even just talk about playing tennis outside. I am sure you are all eager to get out on the courts again. Just like last year , I am planning to start the season in the first week of May. Weather permitting, I will try to set up some pre season gatherings in April.

The league will have a new web site this year. You can check it out at http://www.rochestertennisleague.com/

As you can see, I got a .com domain name for our site, and if you google " rochester tennis league" it should pop up pretty close to the top of the first page. I used a different web building program so just in case we have some glitches on the site let me know. From what I know so far, this program displays the pages best in internet explorer browser, only glitches that I found so far happen in firefox or google chrome browsers.

As far as the league goes, I plan to organize it in similar way as previous 4 seasons. I will advertise the league to new players in coming months.

However, this year I plan to charge new players a sign up fee. This will not apply to anyone who played in this league before , so all of you will be able to join for free.

The funds will be used to promote the league, trophies, web site, prizes , gift certificates etc. Also the sign up fee would probably help us to get people who are really serious about playing regularly. Every year we get some players who sign up, but then quit once they find out that this requires a bigger commitment than they expected. So now if they have to pay a sign up fee, they might think about it a little more before joining. The fee will be $10 for one session.

I will be contacting you again later this month to find out if you are in or out for the session I. I plan to start the session on May 3rd and it might be 7 - 9 weeks long depending on number of players we get.

If you know someone who might be interested to join us, send them my way. I will be doing a lot this spring to spread the word about the league, aside from flyers and ads on various web sites, the league also has a facebook page. If you have a facebook account, type in the search box Rochester Tennis League and it should come up.

So long for now I will keep you posted about the new season. If someone has an opportunity and place to post flyers advertising the league let me know, I can send you some.

As always on the bottom of the blog you can leave your comments. So long for now, hope to see you back this summer.

Max
