Another season of Rochester Tennis League is coming up this spring. I hope to see you back in the league once again .
We are about 2 months ahead of the official start date but in coming weeks there will be a lot of work going on behind the scenes.
We plan to start registration for session I (singles) in about a week or two . I will email you when the sign up link for returning players is ready.
Session I singles begins April 23rd and ends June 11th . Our singles league will maintain the same format with 7 matches in a round robin competition versus players within your division. Past results will be used to set up divisions for this season. We will try to place new players as close to their skill level as possible.
Doubles league starts in mid May and registration for it will begin after singles registration is finished.
We plan to run two sessions of doubles.
As in previous years, all returning players will play free of charge. New players joining us for the first time can register and pay one time registration fee in amount of $30 on our site www.rochestertennisleague.com
If you know anyone who might be interested in joining RTL please direct them to our site or they can email me for more info at rochestertennisleague@gmail.com . Thank you all for your efforts in spreading the word about the league over the years. Hopefully we can get another influx of new members this spring as it has been the case over the past 12 seasons. We will also be opening the league to some advanced level junior players younger than 18 . These players will be allowed to the league on case by case basis.
Help entering scores
Once again we will be looking for a few volunteers who are interested in helping us enter weekly scores. If you would like to help this year please email me. It's a pretty simple process and we normally have one person editing scores for 2 divisions meaning they enter 8 scores every week.
Contact info and accessing web site
I suggest viewing our web site on your personal devices rather than work place computers. Employers are increasing web security and their filters are getting really picky. I noticed that for some reason our doubles and women's league sites are more prone to being mistakenly flagged as unsafe. I would also suggest using your personal email address for league purposes rather than workplace email. With about 300 people on my mailing list I wouldn't be surprised if issues come up with emails too.

Your positive review would be very helpful in promoting the league and attracting new players. These reviews / stars show up on google platforms (maps, google search, etc.)
Arch Open
Arch Open charity tournament is scheduled for July 28th at Kutzky park. We will be talking more about this tournament as we get closer to it.
Arch soccer
For those of you interested in recreational soccer , Arch Charity is starting a new 7 versus 7 outdoor league this June. More info at www.archsoccerleague.org
Courts updates
Kutzky park tennis facility is going through major renovation this spring and summer. If things go as planned all courts should be done this coming summer.
Soldier's courts were resurfaced past fall and I believe Young courts were supposed to be done as well.

I have been running a group that plays singles Sunday mornings at RTC. It's a nice opportunity to get ready for the outdoor season. We have 50 players on the list. There is no obligation to play any certain number of matches. I email everyone weekly to see who is available following Sunday. Non members are charged $20 for 1.5 hours of tennis, RTC members pay $12. You get a free can of balls per each court. Matches are set at 10am or 11:30am. I match up players of similar skill level. If anyone is interested in getting on this mailing list let me know. This would be a good chance for brand new players to play some pre season matches that would help us place them in an appropriate division once the league starts.
So long for this post. You will hear from me soon regarding session I sign up. Hope to see many of you come back for another fun season .
