Pre season

Signup update
As you know March 23rd was the last day to sign up for those of you who played before. We have 49 players signed up for men's league and 9 for women's. Some womens will be playing in both leagues this year. I am expecting to get some more new players in coming weeks so we can get a good number for our format . Since we are already over 48 , I hope to get to 56 . After we reach that number, we will start moving new players to the wild card group which will be sort of an overflow league. Players will play each other in this group until there is opening in the main draw. Hopefully we will get more for the women's league as well. If everything goes as planed we should start playing in about a month (April 25th).

Assistent organizers
As the league expands again this year , we got to the point where I needed some assistant organizers to help me update results and standings on our web site. I wanted to announce that Dave P. and Ashley will assume assistant organizer's role starting with the next session. They helped in the past and they were more than willing to get involved again. In coming weeks they will get familiar with the web building software , so they can be ready for the coming session. I really appreciate their help and desire to get involved and commit some of their time for this. Both of them have been in the league for years and they are very familiar with our scheduling system, score keeping and rules. We will trial this during the next session on smaller scale. Dave and Ash will be updating scores and standings in the groups they play in. If everything works out ok , and having multiple editors doesn't cause any problems we will expand their tasks and maybe even get more assistants. I will keep you posted about this.

RAC party on April 16th

It looks like RAC is willing to set up a season opening party for us on April 16th. As you know they hosted our season closing party last fall and it was free for our members. This time they would like to charge $5 per person for 1.5 hours of tennis. They would also provide refreshments and some food. I think this is a pretty good deal considering RAC members pay 15 dollars per hour. This would be a nice way to get together , meet new players and play some doubles just a week before the league starts.
